Idol Lives

Ancient. Islam is ancient, but that does not mean that Islam is true. Lies also have a long life. Allah is god, according to Mohammed. Supposedly the Angel Gabriel came to Mo and gave him the teachings of the Allah. Which is a nice story, but kind of hard to take on faith, as there is no evidence beyond Mohammed’s word. And he was a liar. And a pedophile. And a warmonger.
I wanted to look into just who this Allah was, and what I found is very interesting, at least to me.
A moon god, one of many, named Hubal. There. That’s it-that’s Allah. Goddess would be more accurate, as Hubal was feminine. So now the Feminists can claim Allah as their own. The polytheists of Mohammed’s day worshipped so many gods you needed a scorecard to keep them straight. Mohammed created a new religion by combining many older ones, some of which are noted in the Bible as being idolatrous.
I found many fine sources of information about Allah’s origin, including my own library, but, as I didn’t want to cite a book that isn’t on everyone’s shelves (you know, like the Muslims do every day) instead look at a fine Canadian site:

http://www.bible.ca/islam/islam-moon-god.htm

It isn’t a coincidence that Islam has as one of its symbols a crescent moon. And actually, its a truer symbol of Islam than you may think; a crescent only brings to light a small sliver of the moon or religion-most of the rest is hidden in darkness, and beneath the surface.

Mohammed was well enough versed in Judaism and Christianity to reject their beliefs. He had married a wealthy widow and no longer had to work to survive. Basically, he was the John Kerry of his day.
He had an existential crisis which drove him out into the desert seeking answers which didn’t include God or His Son, Jesus. Which is when he had the alleged meet cute with the Angel Gabriel.

Mohammed rejected the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and those who follow him to this day continue on the same path to Hell that he walked 1400 years ago.

Those who are neither Christian nor Muslim may see this as a clash of religions, as in ‘either side may be right, or they are both wrong‘. That’s why we keep hearing of ‘moral equivalence’ there days.
“We are no better than they are, who are we to say that their religion is wrong?” That doesn’t wash, as Allah, which doesn’t exist, is not the equal of God our Creator, who does. Ignore Allah, and nothing happens to you, unless some Muslim decides you must pay for your sins NOW. Ignore God, and spend Eternity in Hell, separated from God and everything pleasing and good that you have ever known. No Christian will cut your head off, though he may pray for you, asking God to work in your heart to seek Salvation.
I think that, in their hearts, Muslims know that Allah is not God. But to go against the false religion you are born into takes more courage and honest reflection than most are capable of. The Muslims are as touchy about their religion as an alcoholic is about his drinking: They know that it’s killing them, destroying their lives, but they can’t imagine life without it.
I’ll tell you how it feels to find God and leave the false religion behind: Wonderful! Seek God while He may be found. And you’ll find out why Christians lives are full of Blessings while Muslims lives are full of Cursings. Amen.

Conspiracy 101

Conspiracy 101

I am no prognosticator, but I predict that Israel, like America, is in a fight for her life. Not that the conflict in Southern Lebanon will widen, but whether the virus within will eventually triumph. Whether or not Israel is the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy (which some believe and some do not) the tiny nation is doing to itself what the United States is doing to itself. Under every desk in Washington D.C. and in every cave in the holy land there lurks a conspiracy. Each and every one of them is exposed here.

From time to time I console myself with the knowledge, obtained from polls, that ten to twelve percent of the American people believe that Elvis didn't die in 1977, that UFO's are real and intergalactic aliens visit earth from time to time to kidnap people for weird experiments, and that the Jews control world events. Considering that if eleven or twelve million Jews can control world events we might be well advised to get on their good side.

Again and again the anti-war crowd levels the charge against America that the present conflict in Iraq was undertaken with the intention of seizing control of Iraq's oil resources. If that is your position I would like to put forth a few questions that you should answer in order to support your contention.

1) In 1991 near the end of the Gulf War as the United States drove the Iraqis from Kuwait the retreating forces set the oil fields on fire. Some nine hundred wells were ablaze and were extinguished largely by American oilfield fire fighting companies. Why did the U.S. not simply apply the moral leverage acquired by those actions to maintain a controlling presence in those oilfields then, effectively controlling them?

2) The present conflict in Iraq began on March 19, 2003. At that time crude oil prices were hovering around 22 dollars a barrel and gasoline sold for about $1.80 a gallon. Today crude commands about 80 dollars a barrel and gasoline is pretty solidly over three dollars a gallon. If our intention was to control Middle East oil why has its price not followed the normal rise and fall of supply and demand?

3) Since the end of World War 2 and the Korean Conflict the United States has maintained troops in Germany, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Israel. None of these countries are oil producing entities. Why do we defend and support those nations?

If it is your contention that oil was the impetus driving America's invasion of Iraq please provide clear and substantial answers to the foregoing questions. The burden of proof is on the conspiracy theorist since it is impossible to disprove the absurd.

NOTE: Just in case the present conflict in Southern Lebanon is being driven by the potentially lucrative reconstruction contracts which will surely result, hold on to your Halliburton stock.

Oh My!

Okay, now this global warming thing is getting really serious. When will those who plunder and rape the environment (I'm talking about you, you free enterprise wackos) wise up and pay attention? Just because the truth is inconvenient doesn’t mean we should ignore it. And whatever you do, don’t listen to a bunch of fuddy duddy scientists who clearly want to dispute the facts of global warming for some political gain, or maybe they’re getting a payoff from some big evil oil companies. I mean this is really getting scary. Our obsession with big gas guzzling vehicles is now affecting my favorite planet!

UPDATE: Pluto declared dwarf planet! Is earth also on its way to status change? Pluto, dwarves...is this a plot by Disney?

Our Disproportional Future

Shortly after noon on May 2, 2004, Tali Hatuel was driving from her home in Gush Katif, Gaza to Ashkelon, Israel to protest against the Sharon government's disengagement from Gaza plan. Her four daughters were in the car with her when suddenly a barrage of bullets struck the vehicle, flattening the tires and causing it to veer off the road. Two terrorists approached the disabled vehicle and systematically murdered each of the car's occupants with a bullet to the head. The victims were Mrs. Hatuel 34, Hila 11, Hadar 9, Roni 7, and Meirav 2, the four girls still strapped in their seats. Islamic Jihad proudly claimed responsibility and the killers, later shot and killed by Israeli Defense Forces, were hailed as heroes and praised as martyrs on Palestinian radio.

Since its founding in 1948, the modern state of Israel has been involved in three major wars with her Arab neighbors who wish the New Jersey sized nation eliminated, has been continuously attacked by various terror groups, most notably Hamas and Hizballah, and the world pretty much yawned. One so-called 'peace plan' after another has failed, largely, some say only, because of bad-faith on the part of Arabs. Now, suddenly, the world is deeply troubled by the conflict in the Middle East. Why?

When Israelis are murdered on buses and in their cars, in pizza parlors and discoteques, at weddings, or their beds by Hamas or al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade or Hizballah everyone utters a collective 'ho hum'. Now that Israel strikes back by attacking Hizballah with the intention of eliminating the threat on its northern border the world decides there is an urgent need to 'stop the violence'. Let's call a cease fire and negotiate a settlement. What's to settle?

The hand-wringing Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, while calling the actions of Hizballah 'deplorable', calls Israel's actions 'disproportionate'. At least the U.S. ambassador to that largely wasteful and ineffective body understands that it is about survival. Reacting to the Secretary General's remarks he said, "I don't know what 'disproportionate' means". Nor do I. When someone is dedicated to your extinction, what kind of response is disproportionate?

Frankly, I am sick of hearing 'disproportionate use of force' bandied about by people who have no clue about what it is like to live on the edge of eternity every minute of every day. There is no such thing as disproportionate force. If someone is trying to kill you, rape your mother, kidnap your kid, how much force should you employ to prevent it? That is Israel. They are the potential murder victim, the raped mother, the kidnapped child and they are being incredibly restrained in their efforts, even to their own disadvantage and detriment.

'But what about the poor Lebanese?' you ask. They, like the Hashemite Jordanians who call themselves Palestinians, are at the mercy of their governments. However, are not the people who elect a government accountable for its behavior? The people who elect a terrorist led government must accept the responsibility and consequences that come with it. When that government, or lack of government, permits a terrorist state within a state, the people will pay the bill. Apparently, that bill is now due and payable.

Hamas and Hizballah and their Muslim supporters share one common goal, the elimination of the state of Israel. The only negotiation possible with such groups is their annihilation and even that does not appear to be Israel's intention. Israel simply wants to create a security zone in southern Lebanon, something U.N. Resolution 1559 called for two years ago, but which has never materialized primarily because 1) the U.N. did not, could not, or would not enforce it, 2) the Lebanese government is too weak to enforce it, and 3) Syria and Iran obstructed it by keeping Hizballah supplied and helped create a puppet government in Lebanon which includes Hizballah members.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Hizballah leader and the man who called martyrs the two Arab boys aged three and six who were killed by a Hizballah rocket as they played in the street, has said that the war will continue despite Israel's incursions into southern Lebanon, even despite those incursions escalating to massive land invasions. This is because Hizballah has adopted the same tactics as did the Japanese on Iwo Jima in 1945. That battle took 10 weeks of preliminary bombing, a large number of land forces, and nearly six weeks.

Look around the world. Bali, Kenya, Algeria, Somalia, Sudan, Jordan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Jordan, Yugoslavia, Russia, Spain, Holland, Denmark, England, United States. All have suffered terrorism at the hands of Islamic jihadists. The world is a messy place, it is sinful and unfair and as Lamont Cranston said many years ago, "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?" Because of that evil the world engages in periodic blood-lettings, perhaps as atonement.

President Bush was right when he told the world 'you are either with us or you are with the terrorists', now he needs to follow through. This is not a war between Israel and a couple of ragtag terror groups. This is not even a war over disputed territory. This is intercontinental, it is our war, Europe's war, western civilization's war and the sooner we realize it, the better.

Unfortunately, many of us cling to historical ways of seeing the world, ways which no longer have any resemblance to reality and probably never did. This is not 1938. This is not military force against military force. This is world view against world view and there is no middle ground, no earthly mediator. In time, none of us will be able to sit this one out. Choose your side because they'll be coming for you, or your children, or your children's children.

Pro 6:16 There are six things which Jehovah hateth; Yea, seven which are an abomination unto him:
Pro 6:17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood;
Pro 6:18 A heart that deviseth wicked purposes, Feet that are swift in running to mischief,
Pro 6:19 A false witness that uttereth lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren.

Sounds like a description of Israel's and our enemies.

Where’s God When You Need Him?

So far, here at FDW we haven’t touched on the war going on at the borders of Israel. I have been following the story, watching the world weigh in on one side or the other, and it is fascinating to see history happening.
I would not pray against the War. Israel is God’s Special possession, and the only reason the Jews are hated is because God set them apart. The world didn’t set them apart-it was God’s doing, for His purposes, and the existence of the Jews is a proof that God exists: No One else could have kept a people together for 5000 years. Italians come from Italy, the French from France-they are identified by geography. But the Jews were dispossessed, moved off of their land for nearly 2000 years, and they continue to be a people? If an Italian moved to England 2000, 1000, even 400 years ago, would his descendants still consider themselves Italian? No-they’d be English, and proud of it.
Israel has been miraculously maintained, has survived as a people, and as a nation since 1948 only because God has protected them. So I will not pray against the War. I will pray, as Jesus taught us,
9“Pray, then, in this way:
‘Our Father who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 ‘Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread.
12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’ Matthew 6:9-13
His Will be done on earth. Or, if you prefer, His Will will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
It’s easy to know which side to be on: I just look at the world and see who is opposing Israel. This might just be a coincidence, but it’s the same folks who don’t believe in God.
Believing in a false god such as Allah doesn’t cut it. Because I am a Christian, I stand with Israel. May God continue to Bless Israel.
Oh, and the question in the title? Answer: “As near as a whispered prayer.”

Time To Gear Down?

July 19, 2006
Detroit, Michigan
Sociable Press

High gasoline prices and heavy traffic congestion seem to be having an impact on the nation's car buying decisions. New Ultra-Compact automobiles have lately been appearing more frequently on the nation's streets and highways. At first purchased only by Greens and other ultra-liberals, they are now being seen in the Midwest and the South as well as other Red State strongholds. Lately, they have been appearing even in SUV dominated Southern California.

As can be seen from the picture, the little cars are small enough to park almost anywhere. No more driving around the block or the parking garage for hours waiting for someone to leave and then hope you can beat everyone else to the empty spot. In fact, the car is actually so light that if a parking spot cannot be found it can simply be picked up, tucked under an arm, and taken along.

There are, however, some rather obvious drawbacks to the small vehicle. First, it can carry only one person and a small person at that which would appear to exclude the family market. Second, there is no room for even a briefcase, much less luggage. Third, the car is driver-powered, a selling point among the health conscious and physically fit, but anyone not so inclined or equipped is likely to seek a less demanding mode of transport. Finally, the little cars definitely hold no appeal for soccer moms.

It remains to be seen if the diminutive vehicle will eventually find its niche as the manufacturer has predicted. In fact, a two-seater is scheduled for delivery this fall. Experts are divided over its utility and some suggest that it is merely a passing fad. "It may be cute, but it's more of a gadget or toy," said the CEO of a major manufacturer who wished to remain anonymous, "more useful for running up and down the driveway or along the sidewalk to a friend's house. Then, with a wry smile, he added, "It may be practical, but I don't think I'd want to travel across the country in one."

Oddvarks and Abcertanties

Today I promise not to drone on about the death cult known as Islam. I’ve said so much about it already that you probably know every point I would try to make. Besides, the rest of the world is a target rich environment.
I have to give some of the other subjects time at the top of the page. Fair isn’t always fair.
While clicking between commercials on the TV dish, I found an ...interesting program on one of the religious channels. I won’t mention the name of the host, as I don’t want to drive traffic anywhere near his site.
He was as far out there in looneytunes dreamland as I have seen. God was mentioned often, Jesus was mentioned oftener...but this guy was not a Christian by any description possible. He was nuts. He had a guest who was telling of being in a trance and seeing a beautiful young girl about 18 years old, who was upset because she had actually been aborted as a fetus, so her destiny was changed from what God intended for her. Did you catch that? God’s Will for her life had been thwarted. God’s Will. Thwarted. Whoah! By their fruitcakiness you shall know them. And the guest was not some wild eyed crazy person, but a personable young man who told his story as matter of factly as if he were recounting a fishing trip or golf game.
It may seem superfluous to mention this, but there are many liars out there deceiving any and all who will listen to them, even each other. Especially each other.
The working equation is: If Christianity (A) is true, then everything else (B) is false. There is no (C). I’ve looked and looked, for a
long time: No (C). (Sorry.)
Back to the equation.
A=True, so B=False. So Wicca is false. And the one I promised not to drone on about at the top of the page. And astrology/horoscopes. B. +B. Buddhism is a B. As is Evolution. That’s actually a B-, as it hardly qualifies as a full B. Voo-doo is a B, as are all the fetish magic cults. And Mother Gaea type beliefs have a whole honeycomb of B’s. Druidism, Kabalah, altered reality/ufo faiths: a bucket full of B’s.
Emperor/ancestral worship are big B’s. Communism and every man made religion are sad little B’s.
Those saddest of the sad are those who have as a belief the idea that any or all of these mentioned here are equally as valid as (A). That Christianity is just one more guess in a universe without concrete answers.
That faith in Jesus Christ is no different than faith in an oak tree or a sunset.
And I can understand the appeal of such an idea: if Jesus isn’t God, no sin exists which we must repent from. No sin, No repentance, No Death, No consequences. That would be great, except it isn’t true. There are consequences. Jesus is God; He did what we never could: He became our sin sacrifice to restore us to the state of: No Sin No Death No Consequences. And He did that because He loves us. Go figure.

2 Benjamins

I’m slow. Once I get into a routine it is usually hard for me to change. I have changed, though, in the past few years, and some of it is actually for the better.
It all started when I set up a Yahoo home page, and was looking for RSS content. Christian Conservative was on the list, and it sounded like my cup of coffee. Michael’s a great guy, and he had a rollikin’ good time going on at the blog. I made some online friends through conversations there, a few enemies, and I took my first misstep on the blogging road. I guess you could liken it to a teenager getting drunk for the first time, or first 50 times. I’ve always been confrontational, and I loved to debate- not just ideas, but politics, beliefs, world events etc. I’ve also been sarcastic, and that’s where I miss-stepped. I was feeding the human side and not the spiritual. Belittling some poor confused liberal, to my shame, made me feel good. Especially as I was good at it, and the targets showed up with some regularity at Michael’s blog. The fact that they made it easy shouldn’t have led me to continue to attack them. I caught myself saying things which I would be too polite to say in person. I think we all get a little bit carried away by the anonymity of the keyboard. I was guilty. With few relapses , for the most part I have changed for the better, and have slain the sarcasm dragon. For now.
Over the past year here at FDW we have had 200 posts. I appreciate le and Allan as friends, and I know that the qualities which they bring to the blog make it much better than any solo effort from me. We may still be blogging when the Lord returns, which, if it happened today, would be WONDERFUL!
But whatever happens, the Lord is in charge, and we will continue to honor Him with our lives.
As we look out our respective windows and see the world going to Hell, remember the two words on the cover of the Hitchhiker's Guide: Don’t Panic! Going to a greatly more authoritative source, God tells His people many many times throughout the Bible: Don’t Worry. Don’t Panic. Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Your Father in Heaven is watching over you, and everything will be fine. As it says throughout Psalm 37:Do not fret. (Remember my joke, ‘unless you are a guitar’? Same Psalm.)
Yes, these are frightening times, and it’s going to get a lot scarier before the end. But it all ends better than we could possibly dream. When our Lord Jesus returns to set up His Kingdom, it will be the greatest Blessing the world has ever known since the Creation. And, much like the Restaurant at the End of the Universe, we have a ringside seat to the end of mankind’s striving against God, and the beginning of the world living for God. If you're still striving against God, now is the time to get on the right side of His-story. Beautiful for situation.

Hello! Did the World Blow Up Yet?

Right now the World is giving a pretty good imitation of Bedlam. Israel is making a statement as to it’s sovereignty, letting both Lebanon and Gaza terrorists know that Israel has had about enough of the constant sniping and rockets killing their citizens. And they want their captured soldiers back. Most of the world, (beginning with Palestinian “Officials” but with chorus supplied by the UN and usual idiots)-most of the world is shocked (!) Just Shocked (!) at the unmitigated gall of Israel for defending itself!
Palestinians, Hamas, Hezbollah, Bashir Assad and Vanessa Redgrave would like nothing more than to see Israel lay down their weapons (Copywrite held by the Democratic Party of the United States), and all Israeli citizenry form lines in the public squares to have their heads chopped off.
I respect Israel’s right to protect itself. And if it’s war, I hope we go in and stand with Israel, our best ally in the Muddled East. Palestinians are cowards. They begin with an unsupportable supposition: that all of Israel is their property. The same UN which President Bush was maligned for not listening to before the Iraq War
established Israel in 1948. Palestinians were offered their own country at the same time, right next to Israel, and rejected the offer out of hand, as it meant sharing air with Jews. They dispossessed themselves! They could have had a country to call their own since 1948; instead, they keep fighting this battle against Reality, and, as always...Reality wins. Israel exists in reality, ‘Palestine’ in the minds of madmen and cowards.
Moving a little to the right, India is having their own 9-11/7-11 moment. I wasn’t jumping too quickly to the conclusion that Islam was involved, as Kashmir has been causing trouble. But today I read that the group probably responsible for the train attacks is being funded by Saudi Arabia and our old Port in a stormdrain, United Arab Emirates. So it is once again Muslims practicing the Religion of Peace.
I hope that India recovers quickly and finds the ones responsible for these cowardly (there’s that word again!) attacks. These weren’t even suicide bombers-grenades were thrown into packed train cars. Cowards.
As some have trouble connecting dots, Both Israel and India are democracies-India being a federal republic.
Meaning that once more people who have no personal freedom are attacking those who do. Palestinians held an election only because they wanted to give credence to their “plight”. They would have been just as happy to continue as terrorists attacking Israel without the encumbrance of having to govern. Let’s face it-Palestinians are not statesmen or diplomats. Savages and liars are more like it. Please don’t comment that plenty of statesmen are liars also-I know. I’m trying to make a point here-don’t bump my elbow.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone stole the idea of making Kim Jong Il a puppet from China. Both puppets have wooden heads. Iran is closely associated with North Korea, and the Mullahs should check their shoulders for strings. You can’t spell Ahmadinejad Albright without having mad in the middle. He’s the puppet of the puppets. If they pull the string in his back he starts with the Hitler talking points about Jews. I hear his Kerry impression kills at parties. What a guy.
Here’s the funny part of the whole mess: the more the world goes mad, the more placid and at peace I become. I care about what happens, and want there to be Peace. We all do. But the more the world erupts into violence, the clearer it becomes that man is incapable in himself of attaining Peace. And a world that ignores God, tries to take Him out of the equation, will NEVER know Peace.
Jesus is the Prince of Peace. That’s one of His titles, and when he establishes His throne in Jerusalem, the world will know Peace. We should all be looking forward to that Day.

You Might Be...

“Playboy's life: Girls & booze

BY JAMES GORDON MEEK
DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU

The alleged ringleader of the tunnel terror plot lived the life of an international playboy - on orders from Al Qaeda.

Assem Hammoud, 31, even fooled his mother, if Lebanese police and U.S. anti-terror officials are correct.

His mother, Nabila Qotob, said Hammoud drinks alcohol, had girlfriends, traveled widely and showed no similarities to Islamic militants.”

“Lebanese police, who arrested Hammoud on April 27, said in a statement that the suspect claimed he had been ordered to maintain a fun-loving, secular lifestyle to hide his Islamic militancy.”

We’ve got a problem in this country, people don’t know whether or not they are Muslims, so I’ve come up with a few rules to help out:

If your third wife AND your camel both spit in your eye...You might be a Muslim.

If you have a hole in the floor and no toilet paper in the house...You might be a Muslim.

If you can’t find Israel on a map, but can find Mecca with your butt in the air...You might be a Muslim.

If your den has two pictures of Osama Bin Laden, and no Dale Earnhardt memorabilia...You just might be a Muslim.

If your wedding party celebrated your nuptials with AK-47s...You might be a Muslim.

And finally...

If your suicide bombing vest clashes with your humanity...You might be a Muslim.

Good night, everybody! We’ll see you farther down the road...Don’t shoot!

A little help here?

I found a beautiful flower. I love how the yellow mixes with the pink; I should have looked for it’s nameplate, as it was in a city garden, but I didn’t; can anyone tell me the name of this little beauty?
Oh, and I know that they are not lilies, but I wanted to post these words of Jesus:

“Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.”

My Hometown and Downsizing

My hometown of 30 years ago, Mandan, North Dakota, was mentioned in this article of cnn.com, so I just feel obliged to share the article and include a couple of pictures of the 4th of July parade I was at a few years ago in Mandan. A little piece of Americana.

I remember marching in the parade on July 4, 1975, two months after my oldest son was born. I was probably 30 pounds overweight from my first pregnancy. My old band teacher from high school called me up to see if I could march because he couldn't get enough volunteers from the students. At the time, my high school wore black wool uniforms head to foot and a huge shako on our heads. Ever heard that word "shako?" Probably only if you're a band nerd from the seventies. Anyway, it was about 94 degrees when we started at one end of my little main street and by the time I got to the other end, carrying a mellophone, I had lost 11 pounds. No kidding. It was the second hardest thing I've ever done in my life.

Every pregnancy, extra poundage, and every year after age 30, except for the last five, I've put on weight. So now I've hired a personal trainer to get me back into shape. Just like Oprah. I start next week. Any ideas on how not to hurt at my age? I'm not too jazzed about the whole thing, but I've got to lose weight so I can get off blood pressure pills. What have I gotten myself into? Your prayers for my sore muscles will be appreciated.

Get on the Rock

24“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25“And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26“Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27“The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”
Matthew 7:24-27

You don’t have to live on the coast of Florida to understand about building on a firm foundation. The only firm foundation for our lives is Jesus Christ. Chaos as found in the world is replaced by Peace and trust in God to carry us through any eventuality. What ever happens in our lives, we Christians know that Jesus holds us safe. Even when we are killed, we enter into His Kingdom, and while we live, we live for Him.
Everyone seeks for meaning in their lives-Christians have found it, and have a Peace which the world does not understand. It can’t. The world is built on shifting sand. Get on the Rock.
