A little dust for the dust up:
The Boy Scouts of America Statement:
"For 103 years, the Boy Scouts of America has been a part of the fabric of this nation, with a focus on working together to deliver the nation's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training.
"Based on growing input from within the Scouting family, the BSA leadership chose to conduct an additional review of the organization's long-standing membership policy and its impact on Scouting's mission. This review created an outpouring of feedback from the Scouting family and the American public, from both those who agree with the current policy and those who support a change.
"Today, following this review, the most comprehensive listening exercise in Scouting's history the approximate 1,400 voting members of the Boy Scouts of America's National Council approved a resolution to remove the restriction denying membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation alone. The resolution also reinforces that Scouting is a youth program, and any sexual conduct, whether heterosexual or homosexual, by youth of Scouting age is contrary to the virtues of Scouting. A change to the current membership policy for adult leaders was not under consideration; thus, the policy for adults remains in place. The BSA thanks all the national voting members who participated in this process and vote.
"This policy change is effective Jan. 1, 2014, allowing the Boy Scouts of America the transition time needed to communicate and implement this policy to its approximately 116,000 Scouting units.
"The Boy Scouts of America will not sacrifice its mission, or the youth served by the movement, by allowing the organization to be consumed by a single, divisive, and unresolved societal issue. As the National Executive Committee just completed a lengthy review process, there are no plans for further review on this matter.
"While people have different opinions about this policy, we can all agree that kids are better off when they are in Scouting. Going forward, our Scouting family will continue to focus on reaching and serving youth in order to help them grow into good, strong citizens. America's youth need Scouting, and by focusing on the goals that unite us, we can continue to accomplish incredible things for young people and the communities we serve."
So, what have we here? In a nutshell, the BSA has
in its history been an organization which has
Honored God and country. In honoring God they
excluded any homosexual scouts, as, according to the God’s Word, homosexuality
is a sin. This makes sense. If an organization wishes to honor God, they will
not dishonor Him by embracing something which He rejects.
You
never saw such a fuss as has been raised by those of the world who care
not one fig for what God honors. They have been attacking the BSA for
decades, using impolite language and vociferous demands to make the BSA acquiesce,
allow homosexual scouts.
So, now it is done. Now the BSA will no longer
exclude any Scout because of sexual orientation.
Will that satisfy those ‘social agenda-ists’ who
forced the BSA to change?
Not a jot or a tittle. The next step with be the
inclusion of homosexual scoutmasters. Then the striking of any mention of God
from the BSA Membership standards.
Eventually, those trouble making activists will
only be satisfied when the BSA puts all of it’s force and membership under the
leadership of the Democratic Party, sacrificing animals beneath an image of
lord Barack Obama. And even then the Scouts will bear watching in case any
subversive God honoring Scout DARES to not bow fast enough.
Ridicule, right? Satire? Let’s take a look at
history.
Yale and Harvard began as humble schools for
Pastors.
The religions they promote now have nothing to do
with God.
Young Men’s Christian Association now has no
Christians associating with it.
Many good churches begun by earnest, humble
Christians are now in their fourth generation of rejecting God and honoring
Man.
In all of the world system, this cosmos, there is
continual striving between the people of God and the people against God.
So this time, the anti-God elements won a victory, making an organization that
was created to be God honoring change into a system which accepts what God rejects.
This isn’t the last of it. Christ will one day
return and set this world spinning as HE wishes.
You who make yourselves enemies of God-you
haven’t won anything. You would do better to get on your knees now and
ask for Forgiveness.
So, what do we do with the BSA? Throw the BSA out
with the bathwater? Draw away from the BSA as they are no longer honoring God?
I’m glad that I am not a scout having to face
such a decision. There is still overwhelming Good in scouting. As the
organization is NOT a church, it does not have the same protections of
religious liberty that churches (so far) enjoy.
If any outside entity attempted to tell my church
how to act or what to allow, we could respectfully tell that entity to shut up.
The BSA? Different story. What say you?

I know that this is probably the longest post in quite awhile-I wanted to quote from the actual BSA website concerning this issue rather than condense/edit down what they said.

I don't know the answer going forward. We are in this world though not part of it. We live in societies which are diametrically opposed to God. We struggle with what to accept or reject in society all the time.
I strongly doubt that there will be an influx of homosexual teenage boys who will join the BSA. This never had anything to do with inclusion. It was all about those of the homosexual political agenda railing against exclusion.
Every loss by those who honor God is simply the planting of a flag by the anti-God groups. They gain ground, supposedly, with every victory.
But the truth of the matter is that those who stand in opposition to God
are the eternal losers. They will not gain Heaven or favor with God which may mean NOTHING to them now, but once they are on the other side of eternity it will be a different story.
Though i often make mistakes, I attempt to live for God now and would do so even if there were no heaven waiting for me. He Blesses those who seek Him.
Have the Boy Scouts admitted Jews, Catholics, Scientologists, divorced and remarried heterosexuals or anyone else you'd consider "unsaved" or living a "sinful" lifestyle?
If so, how's this any different?
Let's be honest here: you do believe that ALL Jews, most Catholics as well as the vast majority of the world is going to fry for doing the wrong things or having the wrong beliefs. The Boy Scouts has admitted many of these people long before homosexuality was an issue.
So why are you making a big deal about this now?
Hello James-let's be honest here. The issue at hand is that an organization had, following it's tenets, refused to accept homosexuals into their group.
That is the issue.
Homosexual activists saw that as an injustice. They sued and petitioned and argued until they got their way.
As I noted in the post, the BSA is not a church, and does not have the protection of religious freedom that churches do, even though their exclusion of homosexuals was based on a belief in God, and that God declares homosexuality a sin.
"So why are you making a big deal about this now?"
It is pertinent. Happening right now, this year. My post asks, "So, what do we do with the BSA? Throw the BSA out with the bathwater? Draw away from the BSA as they are no longer honoring God?"
These are questions posed to Christians who have differing opinions as to what is right or wrong regarding the BSA.
I will say that sexual activists who must bully to win acceptance do not have that acceptance because they are outside of the norm. If homosexuality were just as accepted as heterosexuality, there would be no need for activism.
If the majority of people are of one opinion, then those who disagree are, whether they like it or not, of a minority opinion.
We live in a democracy, with majority rule, so why should the homosexual minority claim equality?
Why should heterosexuals defer to homosexuals in anything?
Sexual identity is not a 'civil right'.
Having an opinion is a civil right, in this country if not in the Ukraine right now.
And you can have an opinion irregardless of your sexual identity-THAT is equality.
