Instruct those who
are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the
uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to
enjoy.
Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,
storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.
Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,

1 Tim 6:17-19
Note that last part: “storing
up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that
they may take hold of that which is life indeed.”
Here is why that sounds familiar:
“Do not store up for yourselves
treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and
steal.
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;
for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;
for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Matthew 6:19-21
I am very
grateful to God Who richly supplies me (and ALL of His children) with all
things to enjoy.
Carnation
Evaporated Milk famously purports that their product ‘comes from contented cows’.
That’s nice,
but can’t compare with the prayers and thanksgivings coming from contented
Christians.
Do I struggle?
Too often.
Make
mistakes? Like a pro.
But the
bottom line is that I trust God, and know that my faults will not follow me
into Heaven.
Whatever
stains and blemishes on my character…they have an expiration date.
And then…I
will “take
hold of that which is life indeed.”
I would love
to see you there.

Pulled another bit of gold from the archive-at the time of the photo, my net worth was about three bottlecaps shy of a half a nickle. But I was happy.
