Disgusting Must Mean Excellent In Texas!

Yup. Back on my hobby horse, riding against the wind of popular opinion.
Saw on Reddit that Texas has, well--you can read the graphic above. The tenor or alto of the accompanying article, written by a man named Brian M. Rosenthal is that Planned Parenthood being dropped from the Texas Medicaid program is a bad thing.
It's GOOD news to me, Brian!
The long/short of it is that I am looking for Christ to return and set up His Kingdom, ruling the world from Jerusalem.
I'm pretty certain that there will be no Planned Parenthood, no Abortion allowed at all in His Kingdom.
So I cheer Texas and other states which are shutting down Planned Parenthood's money train from our government tills. I want my taxes to subsidize Gun shows and Tea parties and other examples of Planned Adulthood. See you at the human races.

I know that some of my FB buds are pro Abortion. I respect your opinion, and I hope you extend the same courtesy to me. Not trying to start an argument here-I state my opinion, you state yours, than we all look at pictures of Cats, Dogs and Horses. And recipes! Facebook would cave in if they banned recipes!

No one is pro-abortion. If you're anti-abortion you should be riding that horse into your legislators' offices, demanding that they fund free, easily accessible contraceptives for all.

Just like a liberal, Lu. Rather than having people accept personal responsibility for their actions, legislate, throw money at issues, demand free stuff.
No.
I've heard it said that you can't legislate morality, even though each law bears a moral consideration.
As for "No one is 'Pro-abortion'. If you believe that it explains why you are a liberal-a liberal not only accept the lies their 'leaders' tell them; the accept the lies they tell themselves.
Sorry-caught me on a busy day.

Depends what you mean by personal responsibility. I mean, if you're going to have (potentially procreative) sex, and you don't want to cause a pregnancy, it is your job to get and use birth control. We'll make it as easy as we possibly can for you, but you have to get it and use it, every single time. You have to own the fact that you're having sex and take precautions. And if you believe abortion is murder but can't support a baby, you'd better (in order of efficacy) 1) not have sex at all, ever or 2) use multiple methods of birth control or 3) be ready, willing, and able to give up your baby for adoption.

I am pro-preventive dentistry. I believe that everyone should get it, have checkups regularly, brush and floss every day, and avoid doing things that are bad for their teeth (eating lots of sugar and catching knives with them come to mind). Since I know not everyone can afford those checkups, I also favor good dental insurance for all, subsidized as necessary, and free dental clinics. I also know that, even with every incentive and no barriers to doing so, not everyone will practice all these things. Therefore, while I regard root canals as evil (anyone who's had one will agree with me), I recognize that they're a necessary evil.

Here's your problem, Lu:
"We'll make it as easy as we possibly can"
We? We'll? As easy as we?
Why does a 'we' have to do ANYTHING?
Personal responsibility means I-no we, we'll or any other person-
Personal responsibility means I will do what needs doing, whether it is buying birth control, getting a vasectomy or-crazy thought-abstaining from sex so that pregnancy doesn't happen.
Personal responsibility means I stand on my own two feet, accepting my lumps as I earn them, accolades the same.
It doesn't take a village to raise a child-it takes a parent; best if there are two, male and female.
Here-let me turn your idea on its head.
YOu take personal responsibility for your dental health.
Though there may be encouragement from a village, YOU decide to do what is necessary, and YOU achieve the accolades. If you did nothing dentally, it wouldn't be the village's fault-it would be yours.
This 'it takes a village idiocy' comes from assuming that people are poor dears who struggle to know/do what is right, so they must be told. Decisions must be made for them. They need someone to do their thinking for them.
I hate that.
Don't get me started on non-integrated personalities which blame others because their self image is so damaged that they cannot accept any criticism. Villages raise such fools.

But that's not how society works. In order to have a reasonable shot at practicing preventive dentistry, I need to have ready access to affordable dental care, and I need to be able to get toothpaste and floss and so on. That means there are drugstores and dentists nearby and roads I can drive on or public transportation I can use to get there without having to take time off from work or school. Yes, it's on me to go see the dentist and to get the supplies to do my daily dental care, but it's easy for me to do it.

If you start trying to shut down every dental clinic in the state and regulating the sale of toothbrushes to make them either unavailable or prohibitively expensive, don't be surprised to see an increase in tooth decay. People aren't going to stop eating cookies for fear their teeth will rot.

Keeping with your dental infatuation, you see free dental care as a plus.
Ask Dentists if they agree. They spend years in school, may have ginormous student loans/insurance to pay...and you want them to give it away for free?
But that's not how society works, Lu. Doctors and Dentists EARN their pay.
The only way that you could force Doctors and Dentists to work for 'free' is by instituting a fascist or Communist government.
Your last answer ignores the point I was making:
Personal responsibility. Liberals treat children as babies, adults as children all the while cushioning them from any 'bad' event, doing their thinking for them as they can't be trusted to think or DO for themselves. That would mean accepting personal responsibility for their actions. That would make them grow up and no longer need the Liberals to do their thinking for them.
Bernie Sanders may be politically ignorant, but he is not a hypocrite. Most Liberals in this country bark and shout down those mean rotten Capitalists...all the while enjoying the benefits of a Capitalist society. That is hypocritical, and I need some more coffee-have a good night.

I keep writing responses that turn into novellas, so let's see if I can keep this short. There's this thing called the social contract. We try to help each other. We agree that some things are good and we should encourage them, so we make them easy (not necessarily free) to get, but each person is still responsible for going out and getting them. To pick a different example, parents have to make sure their kids go to school every day and do their homework.

Seems to me we ought to make birth control easy to get; that would have all sorts of social benefits including reducing the number of abortions. (Which I do believe would be a social benefit, yes, really.) That doesn't mean we hand it out in homerooms across the land, it means we make it as easy to get as, say, dental care, which means anyone who wants it still has to go find it. You don't like birth control, I get it, but that doesn't make me the heir of Karl Marx.
