This is a pattern we’ve seen before-just as soon as violence has been quelled in one part of the world, up pops a new war on an old battleground.
Russia waited until the Olympics to start a war. That’s too simplistic; better to say that the Iraq conflict is becoming the Iraq Peace, and the power behind every throne is a bloodthirsty savage who cannot abide peace.
“7The LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” Job 1:7
“8Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
Satan cannot abide Peace. And he finds willing chess pieces in every human government.
That roaring lion is now spurring on the Russian bear, so to speak. Seeking someone to devour.
It’s not about oil. It’s not about re-establishing the former Soviet Union. It’s not about bringing runaway Republics ‘home‘. It’s always about blood. It’s always about Satan projecting his personal turmoil on a world God had created to be at Peace.
I’ve used ‘always’ twice in the last two sentences; better to say: always, until the King of Peace returns and puts an end to satan and war. Look forward to that day. Amen.
