He looked to the clock in the waiting room. Ten hours past on time to see the doctor.
His family used to have doctors waiting on them like servers in restaurants. Now, his last cash money went to pay the bribe to be allowed to wait for the doctor who might not even be in today. His hand went to the pocket holding the silver spoon, his mother's silver ladle. Would it be accepted as payment by the doctor with the prescription signature? It was still there...but would it be enough?
