"Why So Syria?"

Yeah, sure, we could use a hero right about now. Evil knuckleheads pompositing on the international stage; aside from Obama and Putin there's also the worst ophthalmologist/tyrant EVER!
Killing his own people the old bad ways wasn't enough-once he started using chemical weapons the world looked up from "Duck Dynasty" and started denouncing al-Assaassaaaad in earnest.
President Obama, fresh from the Wally Cox school of MMA threatened to shake his fist at Syria.
While frowning.
Ooh, that'll put a scare into them!
If he really wants to win this proxy fight, President Obama should threaten to send VP Joe Biden over to arrange a beer summit.
This entire situation is so fouled up-don't ask me what the right answer might be, as there may be no right answers. At least, none that the world would find acceptable.
Whatever happens, it will happen for awhile and then end and something else will happen.
Larry Norman echoed The Preacher when he sang, "Nothing ever changes, everything remains the same-you are what you are till the day that you die." If you don't know the song, there's a twist at the end.

some wrong headed left leaners might think I'm being too much of a joker, making light of a serious situation.
People being killed is never something to joke about. I would have been pleased if, after Hussein was toppled, the international coalition had taken down al-Assad and set up Syria for Democracy such as happened in Afghanistan and Iraq.
I mentioned a 'proxy fight' in passing-as Syria has been the stooge for Iran for a few decades, any movement against Syria is a move against Iran. That mixes more stink into the drink.

I forgot to finish-I'm not mocking the situation, just the weak President we are stuck with. As usual, Democrats get us into wars, Republicans have to clean up the messes.

How is he being "weak" in this situation, exactly? You're making a judgment based on something ... you must have an idea of what he SHOULD do.

What is it that he should do in this very difficult situation?

Hello James-
"You're making a judgment based on something ... you must have an idea of what he SHOULD do.

Something that he is incapable of doing-I wrote in the post-"there may be no right answers. At least, none that the world would find acceptable."
Here's what I meant:
If President Obama were to humble himself before God and seek His Will and guidance, he would be on the right track. And I'm not talking about a 30 second 'prayer' for the TV cameras-I mean getting down on his knees and seeking God for as long as it takes.
But President Obama trusts in Man being able to solve the problems that Man creates. Doesn't matter that all of history proves that idea invalid-he will continue to trust in Man because he will not trust in God.
James, someday all the world will be ruled by Christ from Jerusalem when He returns. Until that Day, Mankind will stumble along, getting in its own way, doing a lousy job.
Things will be much better then-no Muslims, no Catholics, no Mormons or any other "Religion". Only Christ. I am looking for that Day.

So as of today, it appears a deal was struck between the US (with Russia) and Syria that would eliminate Syria's stockpile of chemical weapons by next year.

This reduces the likelihood of American military involvement while underlining our seriousness about our opposition to the use of chemical weapons. It's a show of strength, in that regard.

Maybe Obama prayed about this. Maybe he didn't. Do you know either way? I don't.

If God is truly the God of peace, then I don't see how you cannot see the hand of God in all of this.
