A Majority of Two

“What can we do?” whispered the Aide.
The Consul shook his head. “We’re dead.”
“How did this happen? Weren’t you supposed to be guarding him? Making sure that no-one could get to him?”
“You can’t blame me for this. According to Barack, this was fated to happen.”
“I feel ill.”

Many were feeling sick to their stomachs in that conference room. Barack Obama, soon to be President of the United States, was appealing to his closest staff with tears in his eyes.
“We have sinned against God! We have set ourselves up as little gods, when we are nothing! Nothing but sinful men who have rejected God!”
The sat silently, staring at the man who had been their hope.
“We have done great injustice, not only to our fellow man, but to our country, to this world!”
The Consul raised his hand. “Barack, I can understand that there has been injustice done, but not by us.
We are the party defending the common man, the victimized, the abused. We have…”
Obama cut him off.
“How can you say that? We have, as a party, held to Abortion as a protected right! We have destroyed millions of innocent lives, decimated generations since Roe v Wade, and there is no more innocent victim than a baby aborted!”
“Barack!” Shouted the Aide. “Who ARE you? You’re talking crazy! A fetus is not a person! It has no rights!”
“I know who I am. And I know who I was just a few short weeks ago.” Obama wiped his eyes, took a sip of water, and sighed.

“I was sitting up late, in Atlanta, after speaking at that college. That must have been June 20th , because I remember thinking that it was the weekend, and I was beat. I’d been having trouble sleeping, so I looked for something to read, to make me sleepy. I picked up the Bible.”
Groans were heard coming from the back of the room. He continued.
“Yeah, I know. I figured a few pages would knock me out, but I began in the Gospel of John, and…this is hard for me to say out loud, but God was working on me. God shined light on those pages, God turned that light on my sin…and I knew I was dead. That I deserved death. That I was a sinner, in danger of being held accountable for my sin. That scared me to my knees, and I asked God to forgive me, asked Jesus to save me, and He did!”
“But Barack!” said the Consul. “You’ve been a Christian for twenty years!” Barack laughed.
“Let me tell you what kind of Christian I was. I was a Christian without Christ, who saw opportunity to advance myself. I was a Christian who got rich telling poor people that they were victims of somebody else’s greed.
I was the kind of Christian who embraced any and all religions that I knew were lies. I had no problem communing with atheists, liars and crooks who could help me politically. As a matter of fact, the more ungodly, the better I got along, as I was one of them!”
The Consul stood up. “Barack, I guess I’m one of those ungodly people, since I’ve been with you longer than anyone else in this room. You’re some kind of good Christian, insulting me like that. I want an apology, right now, right here!” Barack stared at his old friend, then shook his head.
“I’ve played that game too many times, and you should know me better than that. If I’ve hurt your pride, friend, maybe that’s a good thing. Sit down.” Obama looked around the room.
“You all must be wondering where we go from here. Who comes with me to Washington? That depends on you. Here it is.”
“I plan on working with the Republicans to undo the damage we have done to this nation. Forget legalized Abortion. It’s gone-even with a Democratic majority in Congress I will get that done first. If you don’t like that, there’s the door.” Nobody moved.
“Forget Welfare. We have subsidized the destruction of the black family, the poor and disadvantaged. We have made it necessary to rely on the Government, which leads me to the next point.
That Federal Bureaucracy is destroying this nation! It sucks up money and power, creating layers upon layers upon layers of Government, hacks who all work to grow the Bureaucracy. In the past, I always declared that I would change Washington. That was politics… now I mean it.”
“I will protect our borders, through any means necessary. Fences, militias, maybe move some of those Washington bureaucrats to the borders with shotguns and binoculars. They can do some good there.”
“Term limits for both Senators and Representatives. This will be the hardest nut to crack, but I plan on getting a term limit referendum before the voters, giving the people an opportunity to run the scoundrels out. When you dig cancer out of a body, you have to get it all.”
A few of the staff got up and left. Obama watched them go, and said, “There go some good people. I know I offended them, but I’d rather offend man than God. You may be joining them in a minute.”
“All of you sitting here have been promised prominent positions in my administration. As you are still here, I assume you want those jobs. You’ve invested years in me, and you’re not about to walk away just because you think I’ve gone crazy.”
“Here’s the deal. I believe that God has perfect timing, and that He convicted and saved me that 20th of June so that I can lead this nation as He wishes.”
“We will return to God. We will lead by example, first by pulling out of the United Nations- that corrupt house of cards-and we will defend Israel, Iraq, and every other democracy where people are free. Every tyrant, every government and religion which holds people in chains is our enemy.”
“If you are ready to help me change the world, to bring it back to God, I want you with me. This is the greatest undertaking possible, the highest hill we can climb. There is no power in Government which has not been placed there by God. We can honor God by using that power properly to help, not hurt, the weak and powerless. We can serve God by serving the people well. Will you help me?”
The last to leave the room, the Consul and the Aide, walked out together.
President-Elect Barack Obama was left alone with His God. A majority of two.

Ah Know, Molly

“18Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. 19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, “He is the one who catches the wise in their craftiness”; 20and again, “The Lord knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are useless.” 21So then let no one boast in men.”
1 Cor 3:18-21a

This subject has been covered so often, that it is nearly impossible to come up with any original thoughts.
So these will be quick.

Anything you know, anything you are sure of as a certainty, if it conflicts with the word of God, is foolish, dangerous fancy. Anything.
If you think that homosexuality is just fine with God, for example, and you are fine with the recent ‘legitimatizing’ of Gay marriage in California…your belief is in conflict with what God has stated in His Word. How do you deal with that?
Dismiss it? Ignore it? Pretend that I and other Christians who strive to live by God’s Word are hideously mistaken?
There are many well known passages in Scripture which give authority to the belief that an unborn fetus, no matter the legality set by man, is considered a child, a person by God. If that is so, then aborting that unborn is murder. Am I wrong? Does this belief conflict with yours?
Dismiss it? Ignore it?
Here’s the point towards which I have been pointing. The world is full of darkness and ignorance, by design. We’ve been falling since The Fall in Eden.
If your life conflicts with what God has graciously shared with us through His Word…you are wrong. You have to change. You are nearly doomed. “The Lord knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are useless.”
You must become foolish to become wise. Foolish according to the world, wise according to God. Believe on Him and the Salvation He has made available through Jesus Christ. Your friends and family may think that you have lost your mind, but it is better to trust in God than man; it truly is a matter of Life and Death. Choose Life.

Bile Fuel

So now the chickens are home, roostering all over the place. These chicks in Dove feathers proclaim:
The sky IS falling!
America is a RACIAL nation!
The world hates us!
War is WRONG!

These barnyard Oracles would stampede us, the lovely herd, if they could. They see chaos, with no answer
possible beyond the human skin, above the human head. They suggest that WE are the problem which can only be solved by WE who are the answer. Which is, of course, impossible. Because six tenths of us continue to generate problem while one tenth try to come up with answer. And then that one tenth, the roostering chanticleers of the dawn, become frustrated and ever more sour as their global warning is unheeded.
Did you notice the broken equation? Six tenths plus one tenth leaves three tenths unaccounted for.
I’m being charitable with my declaration that three tenths of us:
Are not chicken littles.
Are not causing the troubles of the six tenths.
Actually trust that that the solution to every man-made problem can only be found in God.

It is unmitigated arrogance to believe that man can fix himself. It is also blasphemy to suggest that God cannot. He set His solution in place in the Garden of Eden, just as soon as man sinned and began his problem.

The sky IS falling! (God won’t let it.)

America is a RACIAL nation! The world hates us! (Man is a hateful creature-he will always seek out differences to be hateful about. God tells us to love both our friends and our enemies. He sets the example in John 3:16.)

War is WRONG! (War against God is the most wrong. War to defend and protect innocents is RIGHT.)

Rocks don’t teach birds to fly. Rocks in the hands of men teach birds to fly higher.

Trust God-He knows what He’s doing.

Unbelievable

Keeping it short: Hillary Clinton’s concession speech yesterday was a spectacle of vain glory. She needed thousands of cheering supporters as a backdrop, as staging for her farewell from the campaign. Today she couldn’t fill that room; she’s now old news.
After a year of hard campaigning, her former adversary, whom she often declared not ready to be President, is now her advocate, her choice for the job? What?
Was she lying then, or is she lying now? Does she suddenly think that he is ready to be President simply because she couldn’t beat him?
One down, two to go. I’m as sick of hearing the Democrats rhetoric as anyone. The notion that we have erred badly as a nation for eight years under the Bush Administration is noxious to me. It has been a GREAT eight years:
When attacked, we defended ourselves, taking the fight to those who use terrorism as a weapon.
We’ve brought down dictators, set millions on the path of self determination, have improved our image in the world by taking care of business.
If Al Gore had won in 2000, you wouldn’t believe how wonderful the last 8 years would have seemed to the Democrats. If a Gore Administration had had only half the accomplishments of George Bush, it would have been touted as a fantastic success.
We have prospered as a nation for eight years, and think about it: that means that the very Democrats complaining about how bad it has been have prospered right along with the rest of us.
Politics stinks. It reeks, and is a blot on our landscape. (Quick plug for the book: “Blott On The Landscape” by Tom Sharpe. It’s not his best book, but it is good.)
Any Democrat reading this post may discount my words as being those of a partisan, a Republican hack complaining about the Dems. You know, “JABA”. Just as bad as the Democrat hacks. Moral equivalency at it’s unfinest.
Before tarring me with that brush, they should hear what I have to say about John McCain. I’m hardly a “My Party, Right Or Wrong” guy. I hung up on a Republican fundraiser who called the other day. I will not add a penny to the Republican coffers to see John McCain elected. If his candidacy dies on the vine due to financial malnutrition…oh well. I’m voting with my wallet. And my conscience.

Why?

Senator Obama has resigned from membership in the Trinity United Church of Christ. Fine. Now let me ask you something. Would you do the same?
Would you resign from membership in your church in order to win a job?
Could the world exert any influence on you to cause you to remove yourself from fellowship in your church?
My church is unapologetic about our statements of faith. I believe that God led me to my church; after a few years of visiting, I felt that God was calling me to become a member. My church welcomed me and I am grateful to be honored with membership. I abide by the rules and leadership of our elder board, and no job, no boss, no election, no political expediency could influence me, could cause me to leave my church. I feel that I am where God wants me to be; where would I go?
Where will Senator Obama go? If he wins the election, I imagine he will find a suitable church in the Washington D.C. area. And if he loses, I’m guessing that the Obama family will find a more moderate church in Chicago where they can worship and fellowship in relative peace. While waiting for 2012.
May God install a righteous leader in the Oval Office this year. And may God have mercy on us all.

Valor

It is Memorial Day; it is Decoration Day, it is a day of remembering those who have fallen in the service of our country. There will be many more tributes, in every town, in every part of our country.
Yesterday we honored our fallen heroes in our church service, echoing services everywhere.
Last night I was watching a TV drama about the death and funeral of a soldier, and when “Taps” was played, I couldn’t help but stand at attention, moved by the ceremony, even in a fictional show. The honor was real, the emotion true.
May God Bless each and every one of our military, and bless those who have to hear “Taps” played over a loved one.
Valor, from the French valour, has the same meaning of our word value. Men of valor are valuable men, worthy men, and worthy women. We honor those we esteem as worthy. May God Bless you today.

Epic Fail!

Have you wondered at all the unrest in the world? Why things seem to blow up and scatter hell every once in a while?
From the beginning of time for us, in the Garden of Eden, when Satan tricked Eve and Adam into sinning…
God declared that Satan would get his comeuppance, would ultimately be defeated.
Think about this. Satan knew that God had never been frustrated for a single moment of eternity. Though he had aspirations, he knew from that day forward that God was going to destroy him, that the fires of Hell were being created for the singular purpose of being his torture.
Imagine knowing your fate, and being incapable of changing it. Imagine knowing that it is only a matter of time until you are thrown into that fire. No pleading, no begging for mercy will work-you have a death sentence, and it will be executed.
The rage that the ‘king of this world’ feels towards God and His Just judgment is expressed through the unrest we witness every day. If Satan cannot touch God, he can at least wreak hell on God’s creation, trying to hurt God by attacking those whom He loves.
Satan cannot separate God’s people from God. Not a one will be lost. Rage as he might, he is a loser, and a contemptible fool.

“3And it will be in the day when the LORD gives you rest from your pain and turmoil and harsh service in which you have been enslaved, 4that you will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon, and say,
“How the oppressor has ceased,
And how fury has ceased!
5 “The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked,
The scepter of rulers
6 Which used to strike the peoples in fury with unceasing strokes,
Which subdued the nations in anger with unrestrained persecution.
7 “The whole earth is at rest and is quiet;
They break forth into shouts of joy.
8 “Even the cypress trees rejoice over you, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying,
‘Since you were laid low, no tree cutter comes up against us.’
9 “Sheol from beneath is excited over you to meet you when you come;
It arouses for you the spirits of the dead, all the leaders of the earth;
It raises all the kings of the nations from their thrones.
10 “They will all respond and say to you,
‘Even you have been made weak as we,
You have become like us.
11 ‘Your pomp and the music of your harps
Have been brought down to Sheol;
Maggots are spread out as your bed beneath you
And worms are your covering.’
12 “How you have fallen from heaven,
O star of the morning, son of the dawn!
You have been cut down to the earth,
You who have weakened the nations!
13 “But you said in your heart,
‘I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God,
And I will sit on the mount of assembly
In the recesses of the north.
14 ‘I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’
15 “Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol,
To the recesses of the pit.
16 “Those who see you will gaze at you,
They will ponder over you, saying,’
Is this the man who made the earth tremble,
Who shook kingdoms,
17 Who made the world like a wilderness
And overthrew its cities,
Who did not allow his prisoners to go home?’”
Isaiah 14:3-17

Give Me Unity, Or...

“25And knowing their thoughts Jesus said to them, “Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself will not stand.”
Matthew 12:25

Yeah, I’m talking to YOU, Democrats!
Abraham Lincoln used this verse as an analogy of why the country must not divide over the issues which were tearing it apart. What’s good enough for Abe is good enough for us. I hope that it’s not too late.
We should be proud of our country; I think we have done much good, both within our borders, and in the rest of the world…while Dems declare our last eight years a disaster.
Obviously we Optimists see the glass as half full, while Pessimists see it as full of poison.
How is it with you? Is our Country to be defined by imagined faults, or our actual strengths?
Rather than spending the next four years yammering about the ‘stolen election of 2008’, I hope that the Democrats can be convinced to put the country above their political ambitions. There is much work to be done, and their continued foot dragging, complaining and working against our Nation’s efforts will tear us apart, just as they have done for 8 years. We are a great Republic, but we cannot stand divided.
For the record, I consider John McCain one of the Democrats who are tearing us apart. Having an “R” after his name doesn’t impress me one bit. By their fruits you shall know them. God Help The United States of America.

Parity! Pairty! Paradi!

Fair is fair. With the Republican Chick Little McCain singing out about the “Global Warming sky falling” we need to bring some balance to the forced. Meaning that Obama isn’t foolish enough. He has the Liberal Litany down, can be somber or funny, is a better speaker than bowler…but he’s a dud. Supposedly he’s all flash and no substance, but if you really look at his career with a critical eye, there’s no flash, either.
A dud, not a dude ready to take on the most important job in the world.
Enter, stage left, Al Franken. Al has the flash, and would make a great Costello to Barack’s Abbott.
Think about it: Al is nationally known, is so far to the left that he makes Obama look Moderate, yet so inexperienced in government that Barry O is an elder Statesman by comparison.
Al also is not tainted by being a “Washington Insider” at a time when Obama is threatening to re-create Washington in “Our Own Image”-casting the ‘inside the beltway’ lifers and lobbyists into the outer darkness, where there will be wailing and gnashing of special interests.
I think Obama had better snatch up Franken for Veep…before McCain does.

True Unity

“Suddenly, North Carolina Is Facing Tighter Race”
By Jeff Zeleny and Jodi Kantor, NY Times

“Advisers to Mr. Obama concede he lost support among some white voters in the wake of the storm surrounding Mr. Wright. Since then, the campaign has sought to increase its appeal to white voters. At Mr. Obama’s first stop in the state on Friday, a rally in Charlotte, most seats in the Cricket Arena were filled with black supporters. Yet many of the seats directly behind Mr. Obama — in the view of news cameras — were filled by white supporters.”

Oh my. “Back of the bus, gentleman-ladies, please. Move to the back of the bus.”
This is right in line with my last post about Hillary Clinton, where I placed the iconic rifle in the background to show how she is tough. When she won her most recent Primary, during her rah rah speech a young man was in camera view behind her wearing boxing gloves.
Obama’s message seems to be: “I know I have the Black vote, but I need to show that white people support me, too.”
Image is everything when you’re running for election. That’s why you see the meet and greets at small town diners, babies held and kissed, bourbon shots with beer chasers (Hil Clinton only).
A candidate has to be so careful-Dukakis in the tank, Kerry in the bunny suit; one wrong image can tilt a populace away from you, send them right into the arms of a competitor who hadn’t messed up. Yet.
The image scientists peer down their microscopes at every detail, push poll every tie tac and haircut…and still misfire.
In 2004 the Democratic Convention was ‘in Kerry’s hands’. As if he was calling the shots, making the decisions, showing leadership skills. All smoke and no mirror, as his running mate was hogging all of the mirrors. Remember John Edwards? As Hillary said in Texas about Obama: “All hat, no cattle.”
(I was going to reference Obama and Edwards as “All The Young Dudes”, but I figure that no remembers “Mott The Hoople”. Watch out, Dennis Miller!)
Getting back to the front of the bus, I’m sure that Obama has plenty of support among all races-but filling the seats in view of the news cameras with white people seems…racist. Seems to support the idea that our skin matters more than our personal character. That those white Obamacrats were valued for their flesh tones. I can’t imagine that that was well received by the more numerous black supporters in the audience.
Obama will win the nomination soon-I’m just guessing, but I think Clinton is planning on making such a fuss in Denver, demanding this and screaming about that…that the DNC will placate her by giving her the Vice Presidency. First Lady to VP may not be as Big a splash, but it would still be a historic first. If they were to win as a team, I think it would be wise of Obama to hire a food taster.
Rest assured that I rest, assured that whoever rules in Washington, we know Who rules from Heaven. Have a great day, all.

No Apostrophe’

I don’t usually have too much trouble stringing sentences together (quality varies), but I’m kind of stuck right now, so simplest is best.
Le has withdrawn from Fine Dry Wit; actually she did so awhile ago, but I’ve been dragging my feet about mentioning it, and taking her picture down. All things pass, and she knows I wish her all the best that God has for her. We became friends at Michael’s site, and that is forever. I look forward to meeting her and Allan in Heaven, where we can laugh about the good old days.
They both have contributed greatly to FDW, and I greatly appreciate that we’ve had fun and honored God through our little soapbox on the web. The friendships made and conversations enjoyed have far outweighed a few unseemly events. It’s been a pleasure, and now, I have a choice to consider:
‘Blogging’ has become passé. We never have had much traffic, but it used to be much busier than it is now. Even the Facebooks and MySpace pages, which ‘stole the thunder’ away from Blogging have in turn become quieter, as whatever is coming next supersedes them.
Michael and Lachen, two of our blogging buddies, have stopped updating their sites; I know Michael is busy with his business. God knows how Lachen is doing-she had some health concerns; she is a sweetheart, and I pray that God will continue to Bless her and her family.
My point is…do I continue to run FDW? Is there any interest, or has this blog run it’s course, and should it be retired?
I have a friend who has encouraged me to ‘sign up’ for a few “Christian Facebook/MySpace” sites, which, if I did join, could result in more traffic, links back to FDW. I’ve avoided vanity sites, even Christian ones, as I’ve never been interested in ‘networking’ my personal life. I like my privacy, and don’t care to ‘put myself out there’ except in this forum, the written word. To be honest, my personal life would make one boring Myspace page.
But it might spark interest, bring traffic to FDW. I don’t know. So I’m opening it up, seeking counsel. If anyone wants to comment on whether or not I should continue FDW, please add your 2 cents.
To le and Allan-thank you both for being a part of FDW-you’ve made it better, and may God Bless you and your families.

Who Makes Your Brown Eyes Blue?

The picture isn’t meant to portray Hillary Clinton as a terrorist-even though I borrowed the rifle from one of Al Zawahiri’s screenshots. He poses the artillery to show that he is at war, playing tough.
Hillary Clinton is at war, is playing tough, is ‘in it to win it’…even though, much like the Detroit Tigers, she has already been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. In order for her to succeed, the rest of the division (Obama) would have to bow out. Tain’t likely.
Remember that she’s a lawyer, not a mathematician.
Does anyone know what we call someone who is completely out of touch with Reality? That’s right.
Here’s the problem of the world: God is ignored.
Lives are lived in this cosmos, this world order- tyrants tyrannize, leaders pompositate, the young grow up into cynical Godless wastrels, led into darkness by the generations before them.
The peoples of the world do not want to honor God, revere God-often they only revere themselves, but enough about Al Gore.
In our country, the efforts to obliterate the very mention of God, let alone reverence for God, are the machinations of those parts of our society who have built their entire lives around the idea that God doesn’t exist.
A friend recently asked me why Christians seem to lean towards the right end of the political spectrum.
I said, “Well, Obama’s a Christian.” which made him smile-then I explained that my political beliefs are informed by my theology. I used the example of Abortion. Even though it is legal in this country, I consider it immoral, see it as murder. So I am more in line politically with those who avow the same belief. If I stood up in a Democratic Party caucus and said, “Mr. Chairman, I believe that we should add a plank to our platform declaring that Abortion is murdering innocents, and we should do all that we can to have Abortion abolished!”…I would be shown the door. Tarred and feathered. Spat upon. But they would still ask for a donation.
In my opinion, not one of the three candidates for President still standing is worthy of the Office. Maybe “The Office” on NBC, but not the Oval Office. I’d love to be able to start from scratch, and I don’t think I’m alone in that.
No matter who gets the gig, my life (and I hope yours) remains the same:
“8 He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the LORD require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8

Happy Earthday, Treehuggers!

1In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
10God called the dry land earth, and the gathering of the waters He called seas; and God saw that it was good. 11Then God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them”; and it was so. 12The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.
1Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts.
2 Before the mountains were born
Or You gave birth to the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

18 For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens
(He is the God who formed the earth and made it,
He established it and did not create it a waste place,
But formed it to be inhabited),
9 The LORD is good to all,
And His mercies are over all His works.
10 All Your works shall give thanks to You, O LORD,
And Your godly ones shall bless You.
1 The earth is the LORD’S, and all it contains,
The world, and those who dwell in it.
2 For He has founded it upon the seas
And established it upon the rivers.
90 Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations;
You established the earth, and it stands.
1 The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice;
Let the many islands be glad.
2 Clouds and thick darkness surround Him;
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.
1God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. 3And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power.
8But of the Son He says,
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,
And the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom.
9 “You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness above Your companions.”
10And,
“You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the works of Your hands;
11 They will perish, but You remain;
And they all will become old like a garment,
12 And like a mantle You will roll them up;
Like a garment they will also be changed.
But You are the same,
And Your years will not come to an end.”

I think you get the idea. These are just a few of the Scriptures which state that:
God made the Earth.
God owns the Earth.
God maintains the Earth.
God is eternal, and the Earth is temporary.
I have no problem with those who want to be good caretakers of God’s possession.
God is the Supreme Environmentalist.
“He established it and did not create it a waste place,
But formed it to be inhabited”
But
Any environmentially-minded indiv who wants to ‘Save The Planet’
with his or her own pitiful efforts, without recognizing God’s Omnipotence and Ownership of the planet, is like the man who built his house on the sand-foolish.
“37 Who is there who speaks and it comes to pass,
Unless the Lord has commanded it?
38 Is it not from the mouth of the Most High
That both good and ill go forth?
39 Why should any living mortal, or any man,
Offer complaint in view of his sins?
40 Let us examine and probe our ways,
And let us return to the LORD.”
Lamentations 3:37-40
